Taiwan music superstar Jay Chow co-stars with Charlene Choi, of Hong Kong's pop duo Twins, in the film "Kungfu Dunk", the first comedy the pop king has ever tried his hand at.

A press conference to promote the film was held on Thursday. The release is scheduled for February 7, the first day of the Chinese lunar New Year 2008 season.

Chow, a feverish basketball fan, agreed to headline the cast of this domestic basketball film after he read the script.

Chow demonstrated great skill at playing basketball to complement his extraordinary musical talent. The film also employed some stunts to better present the intricate visual elements. Around 600 moves have been perfectly choreographed, including Chow somersaulting through the air.

Zhu Yanping, director of the film, invested around 8 million Hong Kong dollars into the production and is hopeful about its box office prospects.

Chow said he practiced basketball twice a week to better perfect his role in the film. Many professional basketball players were also included in the cast. Chow often played with them to better improve his skill and grace at the game.

Chow even expressed his willingness to challenge Chinese NBA star Yao Ming to a match: "Though he is rather tall, I believe I am more flexible," he said with confidence. He also said that he wishes to come watch the basketball competition during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

Lord of the Ring Two Towers, Movie Wallpapers

Synopsyis :
Peter Jackson’s magnificent second film of J R R Tolkien’s classic trilogy immediately draws the audience back into the adventure - and what an adventure it is! If The Fellowship of the Ring astonished you, you will be overwhelmed by The Two Towers.

When the first film ended, the Fellowship had been split into three. Hobbits, Frodo (Elijah Wood) and Sam (Sean Astin), continued their journey to Mordor, ruled by the Dark Lord, Sauron. As keeper of the all-powerful One Ring, Frodo had been entrusted to take it to the Crack of Doom to destroy it and prevent Sauron from enslaving the people of Middle-Earth. Frodo and Sam’s Hobbit friends, Pippin (Billy Boyd) and Merry (Dominic Monaghan) were captured by Orcs, while the other members of the small band of heroes, Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) and Legolas (Orlando Bloom) searched for them. As it alternates between the adventures of each of these groups, the film widens its already-epic scale and introduces more characters - both good and evil - into the narrative.

Frodo and Sam capture Gollum (voiced superbly by Andy Serkis), a creature of equally repellent and pitiable appearance. Warped in both mind and body by the Ring, which he once owned, Gollum, also known as Smeagol, promises to guide Frodo and Sam to Mordor if they set him free. Sam is suspicious, Frodo prefers to give Gollum his trust and, it seems, is rewarded by his actions when Gollum carries out his side of the bargain and accepts Frodo as his master. Gollum is one of the film’s most astonishing creations - a completely computer generated character that blends in seamlessly with the real actors. A later revelation about Gollum’s much-tormented soul evokes fear and pity. As their journey progresses the Ring also begins to takes its powerful hold on Frodo.

Synopsis :
In the large world of Middle Earth where Man, Elf, and many other races all walk together, exists a small quiet place called, ‘The Shire”. In the Shire lives a race of halflings called, “Hobbits”. Hobbits are a simple race that has gone unnoticed in the vastness of Middle Earth. They spend their days eating, drinking ale, smoking pipe weed, but mostly enjoying the pleasures of growing things from the earth. Frodo Baggins, the nephew of Bilbo Baggins has been waiting for the arrival of his Uncles friend Gandalf, a Wizard. Most hobbits like things to be quiet and outsiders to stay out, and over the years Bilbo’s curiosity of the outside world along with his stories of battling dragons and trolls have been deemed as quite the nuisance. Upon Gandalf’s arrival to celebrate Bilbo’s 111th birthday they discuss the plans of him leaving “The Shire” and his home Bag End to Frodo. When Bilbo sees everyone off he disappears and Gandalf discovers from the magic power of a Ring. Knowing the implications of what it may or may not be, he implores Bilbo to leave it for Frodo, who accepts the Ring, Bag End, and all that was Bilbo’s. It becomes apparent it is not a Ring of any simple devilry, it is the One Ring. Years and years before there was a dark war between good and evil. Good prevailed destroying the dark lord Sauron, but the Ring remained in the hands of a man. The Ring is treacherous and dark and taints all it touches, and until it’s destroyed Sauron’s spirit can return and try to destroy Middle Earth and the race of Man once again. It is left to Frodo to leave the Shire and take the Ring to the only place that it can be destroyed: Mount Doom. The path is treacherous but he won’t be going alone. His is joined by eight others and together they become the Fellowship and take on a journey of darkness and constant impending doom.

Martini? Check. Tuxedo? Check. Beautiful woman? Double check. But there will be no pre- or post-nookie cigarette for blond Bond Daniel Craig – the actor has stubbed out 007’s occasional habit by refusing to light up for any of Bond’s scenes in the upcoming film Quantum of Solace. The Daily Mail reports super-fit Craig “values his health too much to light up”, and took a firm stance against smoking scenes written into the original script.
Betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and M (JUDI DENCH) interrogate Mr White (JESPER CHRISTENSEN) who reveals the organisation which blackmailed Vesper is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined.

Forensic intelligence links an Mi6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti where a case of mistaken identity introduces Bond to the beautiful but feisty Camille (OLGA KURYLENKO), a woman who has her own vendetta. Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene (MATHIEU AMALRIC), a ruthless business man and major force within the mysterious organisation.

On a mission that leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, Bond discovers that Greene, conspiring to take total control of one of the world’s most important natural resources, is forging a deal with the exiled General Medrano (JOAQUIN COSIO). Using his associates in the organisation, and manipulating his powerful contacts within the CIA and the British government, Greene promises to overthrow the existing regime in a Latin American country, giving the General control of the country in exchange for a seemingly barren piece of land.

In a minefield of treachery, murder and deceit, Bond allies with old friends in a battle to uncover the truth. As he gets closer to finding the man responsible for the betrayal of Vesper, 007 must keep one step ahead of the CIA, the terrorists and even M, to unravel Greene’s sinister plan and stop his organisation.

Batman The Dark Knight Movie

Review :
In a preview of this movie, One of us wrote this about the movie..
We've been subjected to enormous amounts of hype and marketing for the Dark Knight. We've seen Joker scavenger hunts and one of the largest viral campaigns in advertising history and it culminates with the actual release of the movie.

Everything that's been said is pretty much spot on. This is the first time I can remember where a summer blockbuster film far surpasses the hype.

For as much action as there is in this movie, it's the acting that makes it a great piece of work. Between all the punches, explosions and stunt-work is some great dialog work. All the actors have their moments.

Bale's Batman is the definitive Batman because we see everything in this character finally on film. Martial arts skills, cunning, great tactical thinking, forensic application, technological genius to advance or improve Luscious Fox's inventions/technological breakthroughs, intimidating personality, and even a little swashbuckling.

As for Heath, yes he gets credit for his performance as the Joker. But you have to also recognize Jonathan and Chris Nolan for the writing and treatment of the character. It's not just the fact that Ledger makes the Joker so menacing, but the Nolans have given the character this great manifesto that drives its actions. The Joker's stance on chaos, order, anarchy, the morality of the average modern human being make the character so interesting psychologically. The Nolans drafted a complex character and only a perfect performance could've pulled something like this off. That's how difficult of a role this was, and that's why Ledger's performance is so great.

This isn't an action movie. It's a film that explores literary themes of the hero and villain, as well as order and anarchy. Yes, listen to the dialog because it's all in there.

Jumper the Movie

Brief History :
Opening on February 14th is the new Doug Limon movie “Jumper.” The film is about people that have the power to teleport anywhere, and it’s based on the Steven Gould novel.
Personally, I’m a huge sucker for sci-fi films and I actually can’t wait to see this. After watching the clips I know the film won’t be perfect, but it looks like Doug had a decent amount of money to spend, and he definitely can make a fun, glossy Hollywood movie.
Anyway, I’ve landed 7 clips from the film and they’re below the info about the “Jumper” universe. One of the cool things about the film is the way they’ve created a big back-story to explain everything. Will it make the movie better…we’ll know soon enough.

Synopsi :
A genetic anomaly allows a young man to teleport himself anywhere. He discovers this gift has existed for centuries and finds himself in a war that has been raging for thousands of years between “Jumpers” and those who have sworn to kill them.
